I have been making DVDs of many shows I download in AVI format, and have come across some problems and fixes I want to share because I searched through this forum many times and have come up with some fixes, that may take a while (or not). Software I use: DVD-lab Pro ver 1.53 TMPGenc Plus 2.5 AVIMux ver 1.17.6 AVI Audio Decompressor ver 1.4 Audio Sync problems: I recently made a battlestar Galactica DVD and found some of the files I downloaded contained errors when they were encoded, when I tried to De-Multiplex the avi file in TMPGenc it would only do the video and would have no sound. I first used AVI Audio decompressor and that generated a "Could not render audio stream!". I then tried AVI2WAV but that only caused massive sync issues with the audio. so I came across a post on this forum about AVIMux, I processed the file through AVIMux and it generated a better AVI file without audio issues (almost 1mb smaller aswell), I then used AVI decompressor and it generated a decompressed AVI file (around 850 megs, from 350mb) perfectly, I then put the file into TMPGenc and allowed the AVI to split into video and audio. put the file into DVD-lab and it made a perfect copy of the file, played without any sync or distortion issues. this may seem a bit over the top but I couldnt find anyhting simpler to fix certain problems with downloaded AVI files. I hope this helps some people out there cause it took me a while to figure it out, if you need a more detailed instructions i'm welcome to write my step by step instructions. any other ideas i'm welcome to try.
I would need to know what VirtalDubMod shows, after opning the AVI and doing: - File___File Information; - Stream__Stream List. What does it show?
