Every so often I get a AVI file that takes 30 to 60 seconds to start on my Philips 5982. Anybody know why this is happening. Does anybody have any ideas on how this can be fixed to speed them up.

You could try running it thru this (no rencoding done). It oftem fixes AVI that don't play at all.

    http://www.alexander-noe.com/video/amg/

    1. Add all source files you need
    2. select video source file (or files, if you want to concatenate several AVI files to one) and click "generate data source"
    3. select all audio streams you want to include
    4. start
