Please can someone help me ! I am in the middle of converting/burning a 10 episode series to dvd using Convertxtodvd, I have converted and burned 5 episodes without a problem. Now I have gone to convert episodes 5-10 with the same program but when I select the files for converting I get a message which says 'one or more files can't be converted. See the log for more details'. I looked at the log and it says blah blah blah.avi - unknown file format - weird as these files are from the same source as the other 5 I successfully converted and burned ! Please can anyone shine some light on what the problem could be ? Thanks in advance.
Do the problem files play ok on the PC? Drag one onto GSpot to find out what format/codec they use. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_tools/gspot.cfm
Hi attar, Thanks for your reply. I downloaded G-spot and did what you said, I dragged one of the files which converts ok and then I dragged one of the files which I'm having problems with - they both have the same format/codec !! Video: Codec = D x 50 Name= DivX 5.x/6.x Audio: Codec = 0x0055 MPEG-1 Layer 3 If they are all the same I wonder why three files won't convert ? Any help appreciated !
Assuming the files play ok on the PC, try dragging/loading one into VirtualDub. Click 'Video' => 'Direct Stream Copy' then 'File' => 'Save as AVI'. and try ConvertX with the new file. If that doesn't help, try converting the original avi with DVD Flick to see if the problem is confined to ConvertX. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_tools/virtualdub.cfm http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_tools/dvd_flick.cfm I assume that ConvertX is up to date.
