Of course you can put an AVI file on a DVD (as any other file) but you'll need a PC to play the movie.

If you intend to play the disc in a standalone DVD player, then the video file must be converted to MPEG-2 and organized in a specific way.

You need a MPEG encoder (to convert the AVI file) and a DVD authoring tool (to organize the MPEG files).

Some MPEG encoders (about 60 $):
    - CCE Basic (Cinema Craft Encoder)
    - MainConcept MPEG Encoder
    - TMPGEnc

    Some DVD authoring tools:
    - DVDAuthorGUI (free)
    - TMPGEnc DVD Author (70 $)
    - DVD-Lab (100 $)

Many video editing tools can convert to MPEG and author a DVD. For instance:
    - NeroVision Express
    - MainConcept EVE
    - WinProducer

But the image quality of such tools does not compare with a standalone MPEG encoder. Thus to get the best image, use a separate encoder and authoring tool.

    Enjoy.

would suggest rono4102 that you read the forum rules and maybe check your wording of future posts.....

this post sounds to me like you are downloading movies from the internet that you dont legally own.

piracy will not be encouraged or assissted with at AD
