Long story short (relatively speaking); I need to convert AVI files to MPG2 DVD compliant. I have used TMPGENC in the past with no issues, but now I get an error: "can not open, or unsupported". I had K-Lite codec pack + FFDshow +AC3 filter installed. I have re-installed Win XP Pro a couple of times since I did this last, so I'm not too suprised that I have a hurdle or two pop up. But with the codecs I mentioned above I'm stumpted as to why I am recieving this error. I have tried changeing the priority of the Dshow multimedia reader from -1 to 2 with no effect. I'm trying to resolve this today (my day off), so quick suggestions are appreciated. I'm currenty removeing all codecs/software that might be related, and starting from scratch. I'll be fiddleing around, and trolling this thread till something happens, or I have a stroke (whichever comes first).
Same thing happened to me Lard, let me know if you find something, either the source of the problem or another program to use. I'll do same thing.
celtic_d seems to be correct. I uninstalled ffdshow, and K-Lite codec pack (standard). I then re-installed K-Lite codec pack (standard). All is well again.
