no this is not another "how to i turn a .avi file into dvd format" question its the question of what can i play .avi's on (not including my comp & xbox360) i heard there are standalones that allow u to play them but i cant find any & everytime i try to do a seach (anywere) i always get "how to i turn a .avi file into dvd format" help plz
I bought my tabletop standalone DVD player at bestbuy for $45.00, it's a model phillips dvp3040. This player connects to a regular tv that has standard audio/video inputs. It plays regular dvd's and it plays all my DIVX and Xvid files, so far I have not encountered any of my AVI's that it wouldn't play. With the remote you can pick on the TV screen which AVI to play and also zoom the picture to fit the entire screen if you want the pan and scan look. I highly recommend this model because it works good for me, It does look skinny and flimsy but haven't had any problems with it. When I was there about 5 months ago they had a whole bunch of them.
