I am trying to play Chasing Amy 1of2 but cannot! Within WMP I get no sound OR video. It also tells me the movie is 5 hours long. WinAmp gives me sound, but no video. It tells me the movie is ~1 hour long (I know this is true). I am using XP Home. If i have Thumbnail view set for Explorer, it DOES show the first frams of the video like it should. I have had the same problem with a Charlie Brown video before...I just used VirtualDub to reencode it. However, I'm concerned about quality here. I have just about every codec i can think of installed. I have used WinHex and gone inside the file itself to view it, and it apparently is MP43 so this is its FOURCC, right? It is supposed to be already installed in Windows, right? I thought so. Why isn't it playing? Any questions? Also, I used GSpot to investigate and it told me I had all the necessary codecs installed...HELP!!! it's: 352x240 audio: 96kbps video: 20 fps, 62kbps virtualdub can play it back no problems...anyone else have a similar problem? The guy I got it on KaZaA from didn't know what to play it with either... thanks, Kyle
you must be missing some codecs. first try instaling divx3 codec from divx.com .if that does not work install divx pro (free one). if that doesn't solve it then download xvid codec from vidomi.com that should solve the problem. and if nothing works then install nimo codec pack. thats your last option.try it only if all the other methods dont work. bye soban
