how can i play my avi movies directly to my television. should i use a hdd or should i just buy a dvd player that supports avi, divx, and xvid and burn cd/dvd data discs. Also what about picture quality, i am not expecting hdtv or anything like that. I have a good bit of avi movie files and I don't want to go through the task of converting all of them to dvd format and burning them to dvds. please help the confused.

If you don't want to encode them into DVDs, then the only other way would be to purchase a certified Divx set top player.

    Hi Pryme,

    maybe you could help me.

I also love this playback option. Burn all AVIs into DVD-R and watch it with my dvd player that supports divx.

But recently I have problems with some of the AVIs that won't play with my DVD player, and it shows "NO CODEC ".

I looked around in this Forums, and run Gspot to see if the codecs are installed, and yes all of the AVIS already have XVID codecs installed. Now I wonder, how to get my player to read the codecs ? Thanks

    Rgds
