AVI plays too fast

    I got a few AVI files that are played to fast (using ViPlay or Windows Media Player). The sound is played ok but the video is about 10 times faster.
    In my previous PC (IBM T40) they all were played just find with the same software. However, having a brand new Lenovo T60p they just are played too fast and some of them are not played at all; they just cause a crash.
    I checked with GSpot and everyghing seems to be alright.

    Any ideas what could be wrong?
