AVI Quality Help

    Hi, i have a few film that are in .avi

    i understand that quality will be reduced over normal DVD due to compression, but, as you can see from the attatched image the quality is awful and has alot of "ghosting". Could anyone tell me if this is just normal, or what i need to do to improve it.

    i use VLC to play them.
