I can no longer convert these DivX/XviD files with mp3 audio to an mpeg in TMPGEnc. I did it once, and then it no longer gave me the audio. In the 'Source Range' area it shows no sound wave and then sure enough, it encodes no sound in the mpg.

    ALSO:
If I try to re-encode the audio to pcm (uncompressed whatever) in VirtualDubMod, it only does the first 25% of the audio and then it cuts off till the end of the file.

SO, if anyone can help me with either of those problems I'll be on a happy man. :)

TMPGenc can convert MP3 audio wery well. Maybe the problem lies in the sampling rate (48 kHz instead of 44.1 kHz).
Open the AVI with VirtualDubMod and do stream___stream list. Which type of audio stream is it?
Read also http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/190445 and transform + substitute the audio (48 kHz) with an audio (44.1 kHz) obtained by downsampling the first one with HeadAC3he.
