Hi there, I converted an AVI file to using Axara video convertor, and then burnt the dvd but when i try to play it, the film begins with no sound and then the screen goes black and it restarts. I havnt tried to convert any other films cos it takes AGES to convert. Am using an Acer Aspire 5315, which I know isnt the best laptop around but have have just installed an extra gig of RAM which should help.

Try using DVD Flick to convert the file.
It includes a clear, concise guide that lists the steps required.
It isn't the fastest, but it turns out quality work - its also free and updated regularly.
The output can be saved to a folder or .iso image file.
You may want to play the contents on your media player to verify the quality before burning the disk.

If you wish to burn the disk as part of the conversion, DVD Flick includes Imgburn (the best burning program around) as part of the package.

Imgburn can also be downloaded as a separate, standalone program.
