Avi to DVD - how to convert PAL to NTSC

    How do I know when the avi is in Pal or NTSC? When I burn the avi to dvd is reads as a pal disc.. not even sure which forum I should be posting the question in so bear with me please.

    Open the avi in virtualdub.
    Select File, file info.
    If it's 23.976 or 29.97fps, then it's NTSC. If it's 25fps, then it's PAL.

    Cool thanks for the reply, I'll check it out. Also theres a way to convert from PAL to NTSC right??

    There's a couple of right ways, a whole boat load of wrong ways, and about a hundred OK ways.

    The best way, is to not do it.
    Look in the PAL to NTSC conversion thread...it's about 17 pages long, with some really lousy info on about the first 10, and it get's better after that.
