im new to this, have spent the past few days reading forum posts etc as to how i convert avi files to vob.. been using winavi programme and it converts the video fine but loses all sound. i downloaded gspot and checked 4 codecs, all codecs i need are installed. so i thought the problem may have been the winavi programme so i got xilisoft video converter, but this has the same problem. perfect video with no sound. i wqas able to hear the sound when it was an avi file. am i doing something wrong? do i need to install codecs into a specific place? sorry for having to ask the same questions as everyone else but i cant find a solution to my problem anywhere. thanks in advance. emma x
i already have it there. ive tried to convert a different file and still same problem. could it be my laptop??
Try playing it with VLC - it requires no external codecs and can be uninstalled if desired. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_players/vlc.cfm
i downloaded this and tried, no sound still. it seems my files are losing all sound while its being conveted to vob. very confused lol. ive downloaded everything people have told me to download etc. i burnt it 2 disc and put it in my dvd player, perfect video but again no sound. i read on the winavi ebsite to adjus the ac3 filter, but again no sound. strange because th files had perfect sound before i converted them
Dragging 'VTS_01_1.VOB' onto GSpot and pressing button 1 to render the files does not give an error? Then pressing button 2 should play the video (with sound).
just did this it says render ok. still no sound on video, although it says that this codec was used : MPEG-1 Layer 2, instead of ac3.
I haven't seen an NTSC(North American) DVD that uses MP2 audio. Does the conversion program offer ac3 for the audio?
