Ive trid to use winavi and a bunch of other programs but they just cut off half way through conversion. I have a bunch of avis and want to convert them to play on my dvd player. I have a dvd+r burner. So any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you mean by cut off half way through that the conversion freezes on say something like 30% and won't convert anymore. Ive had this happen before. The reason for this i found was that my computer was too slow. Even though im running a pentium 4 2gig with 256ram. Luckily ive got an anthlon 3500 downstairs with a gig or ram in it. so i put win avi on that and tried converting my avi file on that to dvd, and it worked fine. So i think its because my computer was too slow it kept crashing the program. If you have ever looked at the status of your cpu level whilst running win avi whilst its converting a file, you will notice that it has your cpu running at 100%
