AVI to DVD-R Encoding Help Needed

    hi i encoded a series i gt in avi (x-men) to mpeg2 wi tmpgenc with cbr at about 4500kbps but when it gets to the action it goes all blocky how can i fix this

    It depends a lot on the quality of your source file - a feature length film compressed to a 700MB DivX file may look pretty good on your computer, but is never even close to DVD quality.
    You could try using two-pass encoding so that TMPGEnc can allocate more bitrate to the action scenes. However,you are dealing with highly compressed video to start with, and converting to DVD format you are always going to lose some quality.
