Hi i have a problem with audio bing out of sync when converting some avi files to dvd.
the avi file plays great but when i convert it to dvd (to my hard drive)in nero the audio is out of sync. but if i try it with dvdsanta or winavi it comes out ok

it gets anoying because i spend an hour and a half waiting for nero to convert just to find out that i have to redo it again with dvdsanta
i'm using nero 7 but had the same problem when using nero 6
anyone know if theres a way to fix this.
    thanks

some versions of Nero are buggy..... what exact versions of Nero have you used? the best version of Nero 6 is 6.6.0.18..... there are a couple of version of Nero 7 that some members say are stable. I use the 66018 version. don't have problems there.

also make sure that your AVI is not corrupt and is causing the audio sync problem.

I use ConvertXToDVD for my AVI conversions. You might want to try that, too.

I was using nero 6.3.1.23 that came with my comp. but then i upgraded to nero 7.0.1.2

i like nero because i can put menus (buttons) at the beginning when i do 6 episodes of a series on one dvd i can choose what episode to watch instead of fast forwarding.

plus i can make it take up the whole dvd (keeping most of the quality)
with winavi it compresses it to much (loosing quality) and with dvdsanta you try to rewind (if you missed something) and it takes you back to the biginning (in most cases)

i'll try convertx but from what iv'e read you can't put menus.

do you know which version of nero is stable or of another converter that adds menus?

Of course you can put menus in ConvertXToDVD! I use that program alot, too! and if you already have nero 7 then here is a stable version of nero 7 to install to:

Here you have installed Nero version 7.0.0.0 (which is a "buggy" version) over Nero6....first you have to remove Nero6 and get rid of 7.0.0.0...so do the following, Uninstall Nero7 and then run BOTH these clean tools

    Nero6 Clean Tool http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/en/Clean_Tools.html

    Nero7 Clean tool http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/Nero7_CleanTool.html

and then install a later version of Nero, 7.0.8.2 or 7.2.7.0 or 7.5.1.1 all available from this site

    7.0.8.2 http://www.filehippo.com/download_nero_7_premium/?845

    7.2.7.0 http://www.filehippo.com/download_nero_7_premium/?1493

    7.5.1.1 http://www.filehippo.com/download_nero_7_premium/?1584

make sure you are saving your serial #, doing a registry clean up after using the cleaning tools, do a defrag and then reboot! this is normal procedures for making your new installation of Nero complete!

I also heard that 7.5.9.0 is also a stable version of Nero 7.

keep in mind...... ConvertXToDVD trial version will leave a logo watermark on the output of the video files! but it's a good indication of the program can do! I own all the VSO programing! LOve them all!
