    Hi

I have created a few DVDs from AVI files and most have been ok - brilliant actually. However, some have the sound out of sync by 10secs or more uniformly over the whole length of the DVD. The AVIs themselves play fine with perfect sound sync.

I know that Virtual Dub gives warnings that some AVIs with VBR encoded sound may get out of sync. In these cases V.Dub suggest extracting the sound and re-encoding with CBR. However, V.Dub doesn't complain about the AVIs that are giving me problems.

Has anyone else experienced similar problems when AVI2DVD'ing with Nero? Can anyone suggest a way to fix this?

    Thanks

Also, used Nero to 'make" a DVD video from a great AVI file --- the sound is about 10 sec ahead of the video -----

The AVI I used had be dubbed with VirtualDub and it was that that cuased the synch problem. The undubbed version was ok. It seems that my PC could play the dubbed file but NVE couldn't encode it. I don't think it was VDub, per se, just the poor, quick'n'dirty way I was chopping the file around.

I suggest that you use VDub on your file and extract the audio, convert audio to CBR, if it's not already, and re-interleave it with the video to get a more robust avi for NVE to work with.

Alternatively you could do what I did and buy a Pioneer 575 that plays avis rock solidly directly from DVDRWs - an awesome bit of kit!

Downloaded Ulead DVD Movie Factory Creater 3 ---- and it worked Great with my AVI files from my MiniDV Camera ---- made a DVD with full motion Menu Clips the first time --- a no brainer

Don't know what is up with NeroVision -- just couldn't get it to go --even d/l'ed the latest version -- also had major problems with a Capture under Nero Vision --- really like Nero too -- maybe they will get their FireWire Caputure and AVI DVD Movier creater working --- in the mean time MokerMaker is a real nice solution
