Ok I tried for the first time the other day to burn an avi file to DVD using DVDSanta. First I converted it to dvd format or whatever (which took 7 hours or so overnight) and then it gave me the option to burn it with DVDSanta with "Trial version" or something in the picture because I haven't purchased the program yet. I am using DVD-R discs. I just tried to play the dvd in my Sony player hooked up to my tv and it won't play. Am I misunderstanding the ability to burn dvd's? Are there programs that will allow me to burn these movies to disc and play them on most dvd players? Any thoughts much appreciated. Thanks
ive read a few posts about people using dvd santa and not getting results that they want, i would suggest using Divx to DVD by VSO easy to use and good results.
You aren't misunderstanding anything. Most sony products are made to disregard dvd+-r media. Try it in another player. What are the specs on your pc? I've converted Avi to DVD using Santa with no problem in about 45 mins hundreds of x's.
I'd have to Agree with Dude2099, DivXToDVD is Fabulous although now it's called "ConvertXToDVD" and you can DL a free trial version at: http://vso-convertxtodvd.en.softonic.com/ie/48882 But it has a watermark on the trial version So what can you do with ConvertXToDVD??? Well... Other key features include: VSO ConvertXtoDVD is neither affiliated with, nor using technology from Divx Networks! • Limitations: · The trial version will integrate a watermark into the DVD • Languages:English, Spanish, German, French [bold] So there you have it!!! This is a great program that has support also built right into it (view support forum at: http://www.cdr-zone.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=27&sid=0151fea5acc3976d4bcf762737195cf0 or look it up on this great forum site (afterdawn) and trust me you wont be sorry you grabed this 1 as I've looked and looked for a good way to transfer all the fantistic stuff I've found on torrent sites to DVD disc's and watch on my TV and this is the best/simplest 1 I could find!!! Good Luck and Godspeed
i've been using dvd santa for a long time and it works perfect for me too on my desktop it took about 1hr45m to convert a full movie xp3200 barton core 1gb ddr400 now i have a acer 5672 laptop duo core 1.66ghz 2gb ddr2 and it takes between 40-60 minutes depending on the length of the movie its all i use now with automatic chapters i think its great and all mine play in all the players i've tried.
also i forgot to add while i was writing this i was using dvd santa to convert to dvd also burning a disc with nero listening to music and using internet this dou core rocks all this and still only using 95% of processor
Thanks for all the help. I been too busy to check back here but I'm about to try the VSO program I dl'd and I will definitely try the other disc I burned with DVDSanta on a non-sony dvd player. Oh, and I'm rather embarassed to share that I'm using a 1999 Emachine with a Celeron 633 processor and 19x mb of memory and a 14.2gb hd. :-D Hey, at least I "upgraded" and finally went to win2k from WinME! Had enough of that $h!t
[bold]No Problem... We can all learn from each other... Don't forget that the trial version leaves that stupid watermark and If ya wanna full version simpley DL a torrent that comes with a patch (makes it a full version for free) I download my torrents from : http://www.torrentspy.com/ Good Luck!!![/bold]
