is there a way to tranfer a downloaded avi file to a dvd so that it will play in any dvd player i'm just a novice so keep it as simple as possible please
1) Convert to dvd compliant format with e.g. VSO DivxToDVD (free program) 2) Burn to dvd with Nero or any burning program that you like.
thankyou scf_au it worked first time who knew it could be so easy you must be the smartest person in the world thanks
I wish I were ...... *_* Nah, these are like basic standard procedures that most people here would have known already. BTW, downloaded avis often contain errors that might affect encoding. If that happens, try check and correct them with e.g. DivFix (free program) before encoding, but be sure to backup first. Happy DVD compiling!
i've just played my first dvd copy and the audio is about 1min out of sync is there anything i can do
This is quite common for downloaded movies, and really has no perfect fix. May be you could try check for and correct errors before encoding with VSO with e.g. DivFix or Avifixed, or try encode with another program (e.g. DVDSanta). If the lag is rather uniform throughout, you may use Avifixed to adjust. Good luck!
Or perhaps, if I may add another suggestion, try using a different encoder. Mainconcept is always a good chance... have fun!
hope I'm alright here !!Got a problem. Was encodeing The Movie Interpreter Avi to DVD..when the power went out..when it came back on I tried again..this is the message I got Warning: DirectShow crashed while attempting to render this file. This is usually due to damaged, misconfigured, conflicting, or poorly written codec drivers. It is possible, perhaps even likely, that other media players will crash when they attempt to play this file as well, as most of them will also use DirectShow. GSpot was able to intercept the crash, and has attempted to identify the codec or filter involved; uninstalling or reinstalling this codec or filter may solve the problem. The codec was tentatively identified as: C:\WINDOWS\system32\mpeg2dmx.ax Mainconcept Mpeg Encoder..crashed Also tried VSO DivxToDVD..would not even start DVD Santa..Just crashed Procoder..crashed AVI2DVD..crashed It all seems to be involve..mpeg2dmx.ax..this particular file seems to pop up as the problem don't quite know what to do..any help would be appreciated All these programs were working fine until Power outage Cheez I just hope I'm in the right forum
Hey..scf_au...yes no luck this is what I get Procoder Problem: AVI Reader:Critical Error in DirectShow while reading the source file. It is advisable to restart Procoder But I restart & same problem seems to be this is the problem in most applications.. mpeg2dmx.ax I can only find 1 prog that uses it Aurora Mpeg to DVD Burner..look for it on net could not find I copied it from Aurora & put it back in my sys32 but no help
You may try: 1) completely unintall and reinstall all your codecs (K-Lite Codec Pack-Mega Version would be a good choice). 2) check out the related discussion here: http://www.short-media.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-11519.html Good luck!
