Does anyone know of an application that will take an AVI file and chopt the frames up into JPEGs? I could just take screen shots but they don't really look very smooth when you run them as an animated GIF. I just want to take some video, mass manipulate it in Photshop and run them as a GIF or maybe convert back to an AVI ... which I'll ask about later. Any ideas?

Here's something I did for someone using screen captures:

If you plan on editing I would suggest a lossless format. VirtualDub/VirtalDubMod can output image sequences. mplayer can output to png, jpg and animated gif's.

Try Blaze Media Pro. Apart from some of the best features I have ever seen for audio and video, it does cut an Avi, Mpg into frame by frame jpg's.
