AVI TO MP3

    Ok for any that can help I would greatly appreciate it.. I am trying to burn a avi to cd-r to play on dvd player I think I need to convert the file to mp3 to do this will this work? My dvd player will play cd-r/rw(audio format) or dvd r/rw but i do not have a dvd burner on my system so I am trying to convert the avi to mp3 to burn audio format on cd r to see if it will play that way what i am asking is will it work and if you think it will do you know where i can find a free full version avi to mp3 converter. Thanks again for all your help.....countrygirl

    Ooooooops!

    Avi is a video file containing an audio component (Audio Video Interleave)
    MP3 is an audio file (The MP3 format is a compression system for music)

    Do you mean you want to extract the audio of an AVI file then make that into an MP3 file ?

    well i was trying just a one click thing to see if it work i was going to burn the whole file to mp3 and not split it kinda like a music video i guess you could say that is what my idea was i know music videos are mp3 files i think if you have any ideas i would appreciate it i have a avi file and and a cd rw and i am trying to burn it to disk to watch in on a dvd player?

    oooopsssssssssss i have cd r sorry about that not a cd rw me and my typing( roles eyes lol)

    no my dvd player will not accept that file format it will only accept dvd r or cd r rw format but i thought there was a way to do this so it would play i dont have a dvd rewriter i only have a cd rewriter and the movie file is avi if i try to use it as a vcd or svcd my dvd player will not play it ok let me try to explain this way here is what my dvd player on my tv plays dvd video,dvdr/rw(video format),audio cd, cd r rw audio format, audio cd with mp3 files... ok now here is what my dvd does NOT play video cd,photo cd, sacd,cd-1,cd-g,cdv,vsd...Ok now on my computer i have cd rewriter is there a way for me to burn a avi file to disk to play it on my dvd player is it possible if it is possible then i guess i am asking how lol i am sorry i am confusing you i think i am confused myself lol......
