like many others, I downloaded something from kazaa in avi format and am using tmpgenc to convert it mpeg-1 so I can burn it and watch it on my dvd player....however, after I convert it and play it in win mp, there's no video. I've downloaded divs5.2 and divx and whatnot, but still no video...even though when I play the avi form, there is video. Anyone who can explain this to me like I am in 2nd grade that would be great... Macc
I got that from a few avi's aswell. You need to make sure that when you are converting something in TMPGEnc, that they can read it properly. Try getting virtualdub and running a full process on both video and audio before using it in tmpgenc. Open virtualdub. Open the file you downloaded. click video and select "full processing mode" (should be already selected). Click audio and click "full processing mode" (shouldn't have already been selected). Click file - save avi. Make sure you then change the priority to highest when the encoding starts. When it's finished try encoding it now in TMPGEnc as any little problems that usually arise with downloaded movies should now be gone.
