AVI TO MPEG1

    What free programs do you use to convert AVI to MPEG1 with Windows XP i have tried TMPGE and it wont work i think because it has DOS in it. Help!!!

    I use TMPG with WinXP. What error do you get?

    It says TMPGEnc.EXE encounted a problem and will close i have the latest version of TMPGEnc also plugin off there site. how do you use?

    You may have other conflicting applications because I also use the newest TMPGEnc with xp and I have run into no problems....

    When do you get this error, traval194? During an encode, or program startup?

    Hmmm... never seen an error at startup personally. I've used TMPG on at least 10 different machines with Win98/Win2K/XP and never had any issues like it.

    Ligos and CinemaCraft are also good encoders if you want to try them out.

    I guess i have a goofy Putter i also have Honestech and it comes up saying iam missing this mp43dmod.dll and i cant find this dll anywhere as of yet but am looking.

    Have you considered reinstalling the OS? It'll probably save you time in the long run. I used to reinstall W2K every 2-3 months when I used to 'experiment' with new software.

    I just tried Honestech and it said that i am missing Codec mp43 where can i get this? Thanks Dave.

    travel194 be very careful with what you get off of Kazaa make sure you have antivirus software...
