I am using DVD Complete, and it won't let me use an .avi. It only allows MPEG2 files.

Does any one know of a program that will convert my .avi to a mpeg2?

    Thanks!

I disagree, i've had very good results using tmpenc to covert to mpeg2. It works pretty well. I've recently acquired cce and i'm going to give it a go to see how it compares.

i think it suks iv tryed several different config settings, same results. cant fix the problem and its slower than the rest of the video encoders i use so i dont use it for mpeg2 (dvd's)

I use "Sonic myDVD" its "showbiz" software seems to work well on reconverting most formats to a DVD ready format.

What kind of .AVI is it? DivX, XViD
    and does it play normally?
    Anyway,
TMPGenc has always worked fine for me, and produced very good results.
Right now i'm trying Cinecraft Encoder, or was it Cinema Craft Encoder? or just CCE. Just look it up on google. Those are the two best MPEG encoders available. Just make sure you do two or more passes when you are encoding the AVI to MPEG-2.

    Good luck!

the avi was downloaded from KAAZA by one of my chldren. ti is now a Nero avi because I tired to burn a CD with nero and it played upside down so someone told me to use TMPGEnc but it won't recognize the avi..someone else told me to use virtualdub to decompress the sudio but that did not work.
it isn't really worth the trouble but I am now challenged to figure this out.

Hey I never hear too much about Steinberg DVD Movie Copy Suite. What is it and does it have encoding uses? Is it any good?
