Ok here goes I have an avi file of 696mb consisting of 1hr 39 mins video, I'm trying to burn to a dvd+r using sonic my dvd 4 but when i import the file it indicates that it won't fit on a 4.7 gb dvd. I read the help section and it says that video captured from outside its own program will be encoded at its best meaning that i can only get about 60 mins on dvd. Does anybody know how I could manipulate the program so that I could have the file encoded but not at its best (it has three levels good, better and best)so I can fit my file onto a disc? Actually any solution as to how (without splitting) I can successfully do this would be fantastic. I know there are lote of threads on this topic but I'm getting seriously stressed out and I cannot work this one out!!! Somebody please give me SIMPLE instructions! Thankyou.
i strongly advise you to download dazzle dvd its is a dvd autouring suite that is a little confusing looking but very good also if you encode you avi files to mpeg using tmpeg and drop the bitrate to 2000 you will easily get 2 full films on a dvd with great picture quality just a suggestion

Thanks for the information but do all these programs that are demos and free trials let you convert a whole film because I want to be able to see if it works properly. Also I checked the bitrate of the film it is 1150 if there any other settings that I could change to make the file size smaller please could u let me know. Thanks again.
the birate 1150?? that sounds like VCD mate! As for all the programs, they will make a movie for you b ut you will have a CCE logo on it when you are finished!
