I am trying to "cut" a film in half to put on two disks using TMPGenc.

I select the start point and the end point and the "cut" film comes out fine, but I have no sound with the cut film.

Can you please let me know what I am doing wrong?

You're not doing anything wrong, its TMPGEnc, its always loosing sound. Try this, it might and might not work!

click option - environmental settings. Click the "vfapi plugin" tab and look for directshow. right click it and click higher priority and keep doing it until its priority is higher than the rest. try it at 2.

don't split the file with the TMPGenc program...use DVTools which is a free download and splits the files into whatever size segments you want.

Thanks for the assistance, I ended up using panasonic Mpeg encoder, and that did the job excellently.

Thanks for all your help though, I thought I was doing something that stopped it working.

    Regards
