Hiya folks - i really hope that someone here can help me before i lob my machine out the window in frustration ..... I have a couple of .avi files that i am attempting to convert in order to play on a DVD/VCD player... as i mentioned in an earlier post i have attempted encoding using TMPGenc but the picture is jumpy (audio is spot on though) ... i used 25 fps, etc etc and have altered every setting in order to correct but no joy .... then i tried using Nero ... first clip encoded fine however the quality of the picture and audio was greatly reduced ... not put off by this i attempted another clip this time it constantly froze at 50 odd percent encoding ... i re-attempted 2 or 3 times and it freezes all the time.... please help me!! what am i doing something wrong?
Try this.. Download virtualdub and after you have unzipped it all to one folder, open auxsetup. click install handler (this will install frameserving). Now open virtualdub itself and open your avi in it. Click file - start frameserver. call it whatever you want but save the frameserving file as a .avi file. Now open that avi file in the newest TMPGEnc and try converting to vcd.
