I use WinAVI Video Converter. Ultra fast conversions and excellent quality output. Converts .mov, .mpg, .avi, .rm, .wmv, and DVD-video files to any desired video output. Hope this helps.

I started a thread about burning a disk (I used WMR to capture streaming video )but it will not play on my standalone player though it plays on my pc. It says wmv and I saw wmv here, so I hope you don't mind if I ask....Should I be converting the wmv format to something else to enable the disc to play on standalone? if yes, what shall I convert to? And I presume if I need to, I should use WinAVI? Hmm, is there a free trial for this? Thks all. Pls assist.

I don't understand you very much and i presume you want to burn .wmv file to DVD,right? If this, winavi can support that. And i think you really need to convert .wmv to dvd first then burn to disc.
As i know, winavi has free trail version,if you don't mind a watermark you can try that. : )But i heard of that the watermark is the only one difference from full version.

Sorry about this, but what is a watermark?
U r right, I want to burn to VCD or DVD but when I tried the WinAVI trial, I couldn't burn, the trial doesn't alloe burning?
I the tried to burn with my own software but I don't know where to find the converted file because under the WinAVI movie list, it is blank. Have u tried the trial? Do u know if the original wmv has been converted? I burn again that file, this time, the disk won't play on standalone but a list that say "recording" came out. before conversion, my standalone will say "unknown disk"

A watermark is a ad in the middle of the converted file's video. And if you have tried trial version you can see it.
I think it can allow you burn, why you can't,did it say anything to you?
You can try to convert .wmv to DVD,and pay attention to the output directory, you can find converted file in there. After conversion, for the best, you can try to play the converted file on your pc to see if it normal. If ok,then burn.
