I posted this same message in the Newbie section because after all, I am a Newbie and thought that's where I should post. However, after thoroughly reading the description of each forum, it seems maybe this is where I should be. Sorry for that :/ Here is my problem: I've followed your guide on how to convert an AVI to DVD using AVI2DVD and DVD Decrypter to the letter and regardless of how many times I try, I keep getting the same error from AVI2DVD. This is the message I get from the AVI2DVD_log: [10:56:32 PM] AVI2DVD Started ! [10:56:34 PM] Type mode : Avi Input [10:56:34 PM] Output : Dvd [10:56:34 PM] Encoder Selected : HCEnc [10:56:34 PM] Start demuxing the AudioStream No.1 ... Find at the log file the 0 byte generated file to focus where exactly the problem appears I'm unable to find the "0 byte generated file to focus where exactly the problem appears". It doesn't matter what AVI I try to encode, it does the same thing, with the same message. Am I doing something wrong or is there something wrong with AVI2DVD?
Same problem here, just started messing with AVIs -> DVD so I'm new. The problem is at the -1 byte error. [Negative one, zero, it's all the same!?!] I believe it's a problem with finding the codec to encode the movie, but I am still looking around for a solution. Anyone have any info to add? Please Help!
Same here! I've gotten error after error after error with this programs(s). I've tried different files, made a menu, didn't make a menu. Tried it on large files, small files. All the different encoders. All I have gotten so far are errors. I've gotten these 0 byte errors 15+ times at random parts. I still have yet to be able to make a single iso file. I've been online and have followed a few tuts, setp-by-step and still get the same outcome on any file I try. My machine specs are more than enough, so that shouldn't be an issue either. Not to mention I've tried it on 3 systems.. All with the same results! Which leaves me to believe that this software is very faulty. Different systems, diffetent OS, different settings, different encoders, different files. etc.. The only thing that remains the same is the software. The last attempt, (Pictures included) I believe I almost got to the end. It went through the motions and I got an error.. (image #1) I clicked ok and it went to the next step.. It created a 9gb file set.. then encoded, creating another 9gb file set. All of a sudden I get this -1 byte error (image #2) and all I'm left with is a just under 400mb file. All I want is to be able to take my AVI movies and turn them into working, menu drivin DVDs. What are my options? Please tell me there is a better program than AVI2DVD out there. One that actually works would be nice. That or if it gets errors, it actually gives you some helpful info, no just check the log file that you're already looking at.
I get that error also, after five hours of encoding the video and at the VERY end. But it causes no problems and I am able to make my DVD perfectly. Don't ask me!? Also, I was having a problem because I had no DivX encoder [that could be found] only FFDSHOWs decoders. I just installed Koepi's DivX 1.1.0 and all is good. Other programs include The FilmMachine and SVCD2DVD [payware]. I was going to try them had AVI2DVD not worked so suddenly.
I'm sure I could figure things out if it had left me with an actual file. But as soon as I get that error, it would delete the file. It wouldn't let me touch it until after I clicked OK either. Anyways, I did some research and found that Nero 7 is SO much better! I edited and joined a 2 part Xvid rip, made a fully working menu with audio clips, videos and chapter selections.. Encoded 2xpass high quality and burned the dvd in under 2 hours. It worked flawlessly! I've already removed AVI2DVD and the other little programs I had downloaded. If anyone reads this post, save yourself a lot of wasted time and hassel.. Just get Nero 7 and Virtualdub/Nandub.. you'll be set to do pretty much anything you could want.
It's odd because I've had it get all the way to the end and say there's an error and the folder is there anyway, and other times it errors and there's nothing. However that was prior to reformatting my computer. I thought I had reinstalled all codecs, but possibly not. That may be the reason for it, but it would be nice if it was in a log file as stated. I ended up buying VSO DivXtoDVD. It seemed like AVI2DVD was better, not sure, but the first AVI to DVD encoding I did on VSO turned out like crap.
