I've been using VSO ConvertXtoDvd for all my projects for a long time. but i had some hq hd rips and thought i would give avi2dvd a try as I've herd good things said about it. it converted without any problem in conjunction with cce. what governs the amount avi2dvd can handle, total size of movie(s), or the total run time??. the movie i did was 2.4g/50minites so it had plenty of room to rattle around. but hears my real problem, i thought i would try more than one avi with a menu but when i click on "create dvd menu" this is what i see just the extreme right edge of the menu??, impossible to make anything out. i tryed changing my monitor resolution but made no difference.
Hi Martin, I cant help you out with the edge of your program disappearing, but may be able to help with the menu situation. Im wondering though if it may have been partially corrputed during download. A fresh re-install may help, anyone? I may have this wrong, but if you're wanting to put more than 1 episode onto a Dvd-5, here's my suggestion. Say for example, you have 4 episodes of a tv sit-com that run for 22 minutes each that you want to put onto a dvd. 1 - Move all the files into the C: drive (Avi2Dvd doesn't like long path names). 2 - Rename each file in order of preference "Matrix CD1.avi", "Matrix CD2.avi", "Matrix CD3.avi" etc (without quotes) 3 - At step 1 of the program, load "Matrix CD1.avi" file. The following numbered Matrix files will be loaded automatically behind. 4 - At step 2, put a check in 'chapter list', then calculate each episode in duration of seconds. Then starting with 0, type in the seconds of each episode - compounding as you go. For example - 4 episodes of 22 minute files should look like this; 0,1320,2640,3960,5280 5 - Then continue as normal, and you should have a dvd with the episodes with a few seconds break between each one, rather than in 1 long stream. It is essential that all the files need to be of the same bit rate and dimensions. When done, you can rename the files back again and move them back to their original folder. Hope this helps.
