Hi, i'm sorry if this is in the wrong forum... just not quite sure if this is the place or not ;)

i have some avi's, some have no audio on the ps3 ... even though the audio codec file is 0x0055 MPEG-1 Layer 3 which i think should play on the ps3... so i tried using avs to convert avi to avi .... i already have used this on a few avi that would not play on the 360 and it worked great... , don't know if it's because there is a different problem or what, but after coversion the avi is well out of sync... i was using avs 5.6.1 so i updated and got the avs 6.3.1 and still it is way out of sync but only with some avis??? and plus with this newer version the output file has gone huge... from 700mb to over 2gb...

i also tried winavi 8... alot of the time it crashes... but even with that the output file is alot bigger... anyone have any ideas i would like the files to stay near the same size... there are so many different options to choose from... could someone please tell me what will be the best video and audio options (codecs encoders ects)?? to choose so that i get an ouput file of around 700mb

    thanks
    mandy

i think the avs video converter only has a problem with the avi files that have no audio when put into the ps3... whenever i convert any other avi to avi that wouldn't play on the 360 or the ps3 i have no problem with anything being out of sync..

try avidemux or mediacoder. If the original is in sync but the output is out of sync, you might have to adjust the framerate.
