k im using azureus for downloading... and im not getting very fast d/l speeds... like 20kB/s to 70kB/s. I dont know how fast my connection is though... if i hover over it on the system tray it says speed: 100Mbps. are these the speeds i should be getting? btw i've configured my firewall/router and i get a green face in azureus. any help will be appreciated

that is the speed of your network card connected to your router. if you were transferring files to another computer on your network you could achieve such speeds, but your broadband connection tops out at around 1.5mpbs for dsl or 4 mbps for cable.

also remember that 70kB/s is 70 kiloBYTES. network speed is measured in kiloBITS. 8 bits = 1 byte, so a 1.5 mpbs DSL connection tops out at 187.5 kB/s
