b.exe virus/trojan - How do I remove it?

    Hi All,

    I've searched the forum and 'googled' the subject but I can't get rid of the b.exe virus.

    Every time I boot up I get a dialogue box saying that b.exe cannot be started. There is a file in my C:\ root called b.exe and I cannot access regedit or Task Manager.

    Each time I delete the b.exe file, it returns on boot up.

    I have tried ll of the link in Google but none rid my PC of this thing.

    Has anyone got a surefire way of deleting it?

    Thanks elliott,

    I managed to follow most of your instructions but when it came to the safety.live scan, it wouldn't run.

    Still, I've (hopefully) managed to get rid of the b.exe bug and I'll keep trying the live scan!!

    You can also try this link to trend micro housecalls scans for spyware/viruses http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ although I do prefer the microsoft site....who would a thunk I would ever say MS antivirus website would be better :0
