I recently bought an Acer Aspire One Mini Notebook. I want to create back up disks for the computer, but, being a mini-notebook, it has no CD Drive. Could I back up onto an SD card for this computer?? If anyone else has other ideas, please let me know!

    Thanks for the idea.

That was my initial thought, but i was worried that it might not boot if its an extra drive.

I mean, usually hardware like that have drivers that need to be installed in order work, and if things get wiped out in some weird event, I wasn't sure that I'd be able to use an external drive. to load the back up disk.

My other thought was to use something like an 8 or 16 GB sd card. Do you know if that would work??

    Thanks again.

check in the bios as most new pc's allow the option to boot off an external device.

Well i ended up buying a DVD burner drive for it, and that worked right away without installing the software it comes with, so hopefully it'll be enough.

    Thanks!
