    How can I back up DVDs by using a DVD player and a DVD recorder. Is there a way to get by the encryptions?

    Thanks for the info. The links mention VCR to DVD. Does it work with DVD to DVD Recorder also.

    Yes;

    Properly set up using another DVD player, one can copy any, persent DVD, to a recorder
    A DVR program can be copied to a DVD disk
    This is in real time. A program of 2hr will take 2hr to copy

    We have a GoDVD unit and the recorder won't record. In fact, the movie goes in and out with colors that are dark to light, intermittently while it is playing. Could it be the way we have the GoDVD unit connected? Any ideas?

    LCSHG: Will you tell me how to use the DVD player to DVD Recorder method? I'm a rookie at this and need help. We have a Cyberhome recorder. Thanks

    What you are experiencing is a copy protection called Macrovesion it was on a lot of commercial VHS tapes
    I doubt that the GoVideo unit is defective.
    The Cyberhome can not be hacked and does not copy a VHS or DVD if protected..
    A Pay For View, movie is often flagged so it will not copy to a DVD, many programs are also so flagged
    Most and I believe all DVR etc, will not allow a copy to a DVD
    BUMMER

    As I understand it a person that owns A VHS tape or DVD disk can make a [Fair Use Copy] But you can’t because of copy protection

    LiteOn is a very good machine. The ilo 04 by WalMart was made by LiteOn not the 05 which is Cyberhome.
    In todays market and pricing I would get the LiteOn, I prefer a Hard Drive. The HDD makes things easier for my use and I got rid of a DVR.

    I cant tell you what to do but this is what I use In dubbing or copy any thing;

    GoVideo Combo unit VHS/DVD used as player only. A VHS and a DVD player are necessary because no DVD will allow a transfer from HDD to DVD

    Ilo DVDRHD04 [LiteOn] as a HDD/DVD recorder. This unit is hacked and the hack is avail at the last site I gave you. Non HDD units are avail and work fine. Remember tha ilo 04 is a liteOn

    This assumes a proper signal source to a VHS and DVD player also from the DVD recorder to a TV.

    Copy's are in Real Time a 2hr VHS or DVD takes 2hr to copy

    What you want to do [Is Possible] But do some research first, The second site I gave is very good, You should check the posts By Guitarman and Harpmaker

    I might not be able to post for a few days
    There are a lot of good people on these forms and a lot of ifo given Good luck and let me know how you made out
