Back up save game data

I spend most of my time over in the Wii section but now my son needs your help through me. He has borrowed our neighbors Pokemon Pearl game and want to start his own adventure on a trip we are tacking this weekend. Is there a way to copy the save game data from the Game to a PC for so I can restore it when we return? Is that what the pokesave pack will do? I'm currently downloading this for the link in the Ultimate Sticky Sticky.
I need a good link to a Guide. It seem to me that no mater what I will need some special hardware? Or is there a direct way to link via WiFi and extract the data?

Ok I look around the net and found there is no way around not buying hardware. I trust the opinions of users here. what are people using?
