I made a backup of my game into an mdf image. Recently the original disc broke so it was a good thing I made that mdf. I burnt the mdf onto a dvd-rw with clonecd, and reinstalled the game w/ that new cd. Everything went fine until I tried to start the game and i get a message that says 'Please insert the correct dvd-rom, and press ok to restart'. Any suggestions on how to fix this? I don't get why it wouldn't work since the dvd was able to install the game, but now the game doesn't recognize that the cd is inserted.

    thanks

also the game works with a nocd crack i found, but they never really work that well since it makes the game run so painstakingly slow.

Run A-ray scanner on the 'original' disc,
A-ray will determine the protection on the disc,
Use Alcohol 120% and emulate the same protection that was
found on the disc when you create the 'new' image.

Now you should have a good image,
Use Alcohol 120% again and choose the same protection for
    the datatype.
Now you can burn a 1:1 copy that you can use to install/run the game,
You probably will have trouble mounting the image from
a virtual drive, So i recommend burning the copy instead.

A no-cd fix should correct the problem with no issues,
All it does is remove the cd-check before the game begins,
If it is not working properly maybe you dont have the
correct version needed for the fix.

    Cheers!

Its not working on the original disc since its pretty much fried. is there ne thing i can do, like use a nocd crack but still run it off the cd (so it doesnt go really slow during gameplay) or find a way to get that protection w/o running a-ray?

Something HAS to be wrong because the no-cd should have no bearing,
on how the game itself plays,
Depending on where you got it from I would recommend getting
a different one beacuse simply a fix should not cause this to happen,

This thread is borderline on being not allowed here,
I would suggest getting a correct no-cd fix since the original
is so badly damaged, It could also be that the copy is damaged
    as well.
But the game slowing down because of it means that something is wrong.

would it help to use the crack to replace the executable that is on the dvd rather than on my hard drive?
