I have backed up photo files using nero7 now I cant get them on my computer plus they arnt' photo's they ar these little boxes with coiled tubes down the side, ok the files are odd not liek what i thought they would look like.

I'm getting Data error (cyclic redundancy check) what does that mean????

One other thing I cant get Nero 7 to load as i silly me took it off
    I'm getting
    .....c:\Programfiles\commonfiles\ahead\lib\midialibraryNSE.dll
something about it missing can i down load this?

I put a trial Nero 8 on hoping to get back my photos.
I'm scared I have lost them forever :( why wouldn't they save as regular files as my other photo's have when I burnt them with Sonic.
Ohhhh I hope someone can help me

Did you use the Nero 'BackItUp' program or simply copy the files to a CD?
The BackItup program saves it as a file with an .nba extension.
This file can be opened with the likes of WinRar or other unzipping type programs.

If the backup was simply copying the files to a CD, then the 'cyclic redundancy check' is probably indicating a problem reading the CD (the CD may be bad) and you may need to use some type of file recovery program to get the pics off.

So I can get a recovery program to read a bad disc ? have I understood that right?
Where would i get this ? thansk again I hope i can work all this out

It would seem strange/unlikely that you suddenly have a collection of defective CD's
Are these CD's all Nero backup disks?

This is a link to one program that claims to recover files from bad disks.
    Google will show dozens more.
I can't vouch for any of them - haven't needed them.
    Good luck.

When I turn it on before windows starts this page comes up, I have to press F2 then it goes to windows page. I had a look in F1 scary stuff in there I can only use my arrow button. I had a look around and clicked on default for everything, I thought that might be safe ?
Still opening on that page so I did a full systems restore and it's still comes up like that.
Not sure what that is sorry, my daughter has a USB for school but that isn't plugged in . I'm thinking that is not what our asking though
I dont have any thing other than the usual plugged in

    thanks

Yes defiantly no school USB or printer in as I haven’t put everything back on . But I just realised that the internet modem has a USB plug not the Eth**** what ever that word is so that might be it.

I cant burn with DVD’s now only CD which is odd, that one works and not the other.
Well I’ll have to get a new hard drive for sure I’m only getting 2years out of my computers this is not good. I’ll just get the hard drive though this time I think this one has enough memory… I do need more virtual memory though.

Any Tips on what to buy brand… ? If you cant post here cause on name brands would you mind Pming me
We use the computer to edit photos’ / home movies / general use need a good burner for DVD shrink..

Thanks heaps wish I could offer back to the site in some way but I’m afraid all I have is more questions
It’s great that you are all here willing to help

    Thanks heaps
