So I decrypted my game to make a back up copy of it. Made it into a .nrg and tried burning it with magiciso, DVD was read as empty. Made it an .iso and the DVD was read as empty. Made it into an .xiso read as empty. Just tried the files by themselves on the Data Dvd, read as empty. File Explorer reads it as empty, how can I get this to work?

    Thanks,
    Mako3

Try using a program called imgburn to burn an iso file to the dvd.
But first you will need to patch the file with craxtion4, you can also use this to make the iso. Use imgburn to burn the image, but make sure you don't burn over 2x speed.
It worked for me, good luck.

You aren't trying to back up the game using your PC's DVD drive, are you? To back up an original Xbox game you have to copy it from your Xbox to your PC by either ripping it to the hard drive beforehand or by streaming it to your PC straight from the Xbox's disc drive.

Well, this is how I back up my games...

I use dvd2xbox to rip it to the hard drive, then use Avalaunch and Quix to transfer it to my PC as an Xbox iso. I then use ImgBurn to burn it at 4x onto 16x Verbatim DVD-R. I've never had any problems doing it this way.

That's what i'm using, but some xbox dvd drives are different. Try to find out which drive you have and find out what its compatibilities are. All this means is you may have to try a different brand of dvd.

And back to the biginning of the forum the dvd would be read as empty if your xbox can't read it.

Are you sure you are burning it to the dvd, is there anything that shows the iso on it.
Like an idiot I burned 2 dvd's or at least I thought i did, but what i really did was copy it to my commputer HD instead of the DVD.
-that's probably not your problem though

Also have you tried the original, if that doesn't work delete everything in your cache folder on your xbox and everything in your x y and z partitions.

This is how I did mine, I use SmartFTP to copy the game files from my Xbox D folder straight to my PC, the D folder is the DVD drive then I use Qwix to create the Xbox iso then I use ImBurn to burn the iso to a Memorex DVD+R, burn the game at 4x no problem, I allso have a Thomson-DVD drive. You need to create an Xbox iso.

Something's been bothering me... are you trying to use the original game, or are you still trying to get that nrg file to work?

For someone to get an nrg file, they had to use Nero to create an image file, which should never be done...

Also, it should be noted that PC drive cannot read Xbox iso files or game discs. Meaning, if you have an Xbox game, they PC will not be able to read it, regardless of whether or not it's an original. Same goes for image files. If you mount the image file using say, Daemon Tools, you won't be able to browse it either.

So anyway, my point is, are you starting the entire process over from scratch each time or are you trying to use the nrg file everytime? The only time you should ever get a working nrg file of an Xbox game is if you had a game back-up to begin with and use Nero to create an image of the disc.

I have no clue, I have the .nrg file, and now my original game is broken. So I have to figure out something since the .nrg wont work.

Well, you're basically SOL as far as that game is concerned. You'll need to get another copy from somewhere else since that nrg file is useless and you can't use the original disc.
