hiya anyone have some idea of how to back up an xbox hdd ...... i want to change a hdd in my xbox but i dont want to lose anything on there like my music and saved games i got a 120gb and want to put a 140gb at least so i can go steath and go xbox live ......
FTP the C, E, F, and G folders to your PC, you might not have G though. And then FTP them back to your new HDD.
hiya just one more question i got the 120gb hdd in my xbox and i've used up about 60-70gb will my pc hdd have to have at least say 80gb free to do this ......... thanks for the responce
Well as long as your PC has enough space you can just FTP everything over at once, otherwise just do 20GBs at a time. Then FTP those 20GBs back to the new HDD, delete them on your PC and FTP another 20GBs from your old HDD over, repeat. Most importantly FTP the system files first before you FTP the games over.
okey now...... if i'm to ftp say 20gb at a time then ftp those files to my new hdd so will i need to be changing hard drives, or could i remove the dvd-rom and connet the new hdd and do it this way .....? i guess i'll give it a try
You're gonna have to switch the HDDs back and forth, you can't just replace the DVD drive with another HDD cuz Xbox needs the DVD drive to boot.
