Hello, I have tried to backup some of my games before, and being a complete newbie, I used HP CD Writer to make an exact copy, I tried to do this in an audio format, and was very frustrated when it did not work. Through some experiments and many coasters I discovered the wonder of the data cd. I attempted to simply copy all of the files from the cd and place them in the blank disc. This as you must know did not turn out successful. Now, I have been doing some research here and have learned I need to download ClonyXXL and find out the type of p rotection it has. Then use that information to burn. Correct? Well I have been reading about .bin and .iso and .cue files and cannot find them. Where are these files located, or do I have to make them? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I read that forum and didn't see anything on how to create those files. How would I go about doing this. Oh yes, I am not sure what I have for a cd burner but I just bought this computer:

I bought the PCV-RZ44G. Thank you again.

For Commonly Asked Questions regarding CD Images see http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/7976

For a list of 2-Sheep burners as well as an explaination as to what exactly "sheep" are, see http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/45121 and http://www.elby.ch/en/products/clone_cd/writers/a.html_

To determine your make and model of your optical drives; if you happen to have Nero Infotools installed, start it up and under the Drive tab, it will list all the relevant specifications and capabilities of your burner. The actual name of your burner is listed in the drop-down box at the top (those numbers before the name of your burner are important too!). Thanks for all of you help so far, I have a Pioneer DVR-106D combination DVD + and - and cd burner. I checked the 2 sheep ratings forum and did not see my burner listed however, the forum is out of date and I was wondering about my burner. Thank you!

Shame on ya m8! (hehe). The Pioneer DVD-R106D= 1 sheep burner. Look below at my sig a I just purchased the LiteOn LDW-411S= 2 sheep dvd burner. The Plextor PX-708A= 2 sheeper and considered the "elite" dvd burner for backing up pc\audio cd protection. The LiteOn LDW-811S= 2 sheeper as well.

LiteOn dvd burners are great dvd burners and you can purchase them at a real good price. I just did my first dvd burn (data) using Nero and burned 4.5 gigs in less than 15 minutes to a DVD+RW. Next test, burn a dvd movie!
