@247dad You're welcome. Glad I could help. Enjoy the guide and your backups to the fullest now. Good luck.
i just download and installed the newest version of dvdfab platinum and it worked just fine. ripped with no problems at all with dvd region free running in the background... HOPE THIS HELPS.
@binkie7 would you mind telling me what program you used to create the image you posted of the "still image" option for shrink? the text boxes and the dotted-arrow-pointer lines look very very clean and nice. thanks! (was going to post this to your shoutbox but looks like maybe you don't check it...).
Aloha surfgeo I use SnagIt. yeah I check the shoutbox once in awhile There's always pm's. @247dad & Dopey386 Glad to hear that did the trick @herbiev The main movie is not in the unreferenced material so yes you can make a still image of it w/o affecting the movie.
Still having problems! AnyDVD reads it, Cyberlink Power DVD plays it, but my computer will not show it available in its drive "E". So DVD Shrink, VobBlanker, ImgBurn, & DVDFab will not read it. Can anybody help?
@rgoltra Try the ripper in AnyDVD. Right click on the red fox and pick 'rip video-dvd to hard drive'.
Latest DvdFab then Shrink do this one first then go back and do Fast and Furious had problems at first with fast but I did curious george first then I went back and did fast no problems no Anydvd or Voblanker
@rgoltra Try this start playing the movie on the pc - then stop it & close whatever program you are using to watch it. See if any of the programs now recognize it. Or if you have another drive - try that one. If all fails then exchange it for a new one.
I had trouble with Curious George, too. But, as usual, my questions were answered here at my favorite website . . . afterdawn. I use DVDShrink and DVDFAB Decrypter. The extra info from Binkie7 about "still imaging" the "unreferenced material" made my copy/burn perfect!!! I can't get the hang of Vob Blanker but I haven't had any movie I can't copy with the DVDShrink/DVDFAB Decrypter combo!!! Thanks again for your help!!!!
You're welcome tigger27 Glad our tips did the trick for you! Follow alkohol's step by step guide - you'll get the hang of vobblanker in no time.
i just did george saturday night. used anydvd in the background and nero recode2 not a problem one..other than my sons wanting the original dvd so they could look at the case and dvd face..lol.did the whole disc extra's and all everything great.(outside of a nero QC scoe of 76).whichs that problem is soon to be fixed(new burner)...lol
You can use 'still image' - compresses it more than 'still picture' (I always confuse the 2 ) Here's a pic: Blinkie 7 Had the right answer for me.Did just what he said and burned with Nero as usual. No probs.Thx Blinkie
I noticed that everyone is talking about using anyDVD in this thread when copying curious george to dvd. I have nero not AnyDVD and I am having a problem with copying curious george. I have tried DVD decrypter, DVDFab decrypter and FixVTS1.5 with no luck at all. I even tried doing exactly what another person posted as a visual reference which was clicking on unreferenced material and changing the compression to still image still with no luck. could someone give some advice on how to do with Nero instead of AnyDVD since the original thread concerns AnyDVD instead of Nero?
Hi seanie_d Use the latest DVDFab Decryper if your not (3.0.2.0)- run the files thru vobblanker (free) then you can use Nero's Recode to compress & burn. Here's a guide - you can replace Shrink & ImgBurn w/ Recode. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/334154 Or you can use RipIt4Me -all free & uses Shrink, Decrypter, FixVTS. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/360110 Give those a go.
@ binkie7 Did you ever try to play that unreferenced material in DVD Shrink? It looks way to much to be a legitime unref stuff. I would say max 1Mb is ok.
@cynthia_ On this one when AnyDVD failed w/ Shrink and I saw the running boy or jumping boy whatever he is - I just made the still img and Shrink went along it's merry way. No playback problems at all. Yeah the file is larger than usual.
