I dont know if its possible, but if it is, could someone please tell me how? My main problem is with a disc of Star Trek, The Next Generation that I have. The disc works fine, except for one spot in one of the episodes where it freezes up, and the only way to avoid this is to skip past it to the next section, then rewind to a point just after where it freezes. I was wondering if there was a way to copy the DVD and smooth over that part? The disc appears to be fine, there are no noticible scratches or anything, just one spot of one episode. Any help is appreciated.
cosmonkey, Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you might have a bubble in the disk. If you can return the disk for exchange. You might try DVDDecrypter to rip it to HD and tell DVDD to ignore the errors. I sent you a PM
I tried DVD Decrypter already, and it would get stuck, even ignoring the errors. But thanks anyways. I didnt think there was a way to salvage the disc, but I figured Id ask anyways.
try anydvd, free to try for 21 days. download here http://static.slysoft.com/SetupAnyDVD.exe main site http://www.slysoft.com/en/download.html once installed a fox icon will be on ye task-bar right click on the fox and select rip video to hard drive.. New: Added "AnyDVD Ripper". This little tool repairs defective DVDs while copying them to your harddisk. It can be started from the menu of the AnyDVD fox icon. It can be started as a stand alone application from the start menu as well, so it can be used even if AnyDVD is not registered and the trial period has expired. It is identical to FixVTS (http://www.videohelp.com/~FixVTS/) but instead of fixing problems "in place" it copies the files to your harddisk directly from the source DVD. It fixes the problems while the files are copied.
AnyDVD from Slysoft has a DVDripper in the program which fixes errors on the disk, http://www.filehippo.com/download_anydvd/ they give you a free 21 day trial, so you may want to give this one a shot for that disk, who knows, may work??? Edited to wonder how Ireland is faster???
