    Hi,

I have lots of old video of my kids growing-up that I have transferred successfully to dvd+r and dvd-r, but I have a concern that if this copy had a problem deteriorating in the future, then Id lose the digital copy.

Is there any software (preferably free!)to allow me to get the individual dvds backed-up to a hard drive?

    Thanks for any help!

    Mark

no copy protection on the disc use copy & Paste, to a folder on hard drive.
put disc in drive when loaded, right click your drive select copy, navigate to folder to put files in and left click folder, then right click paste.

Just did Grapes of Wrath, plays fine.

    Thanks very much Aldiii,

I was mistakenly under the impression that I needed a specific software to do it!

Verbatim with VZO on packaging if you want quality media also if you have the space use imgburn to create iso's of the dvd's i.e (create image file from disc)& leave the images on the hdd as another backup
