I found this great little piece of software for backing up all of our ipods mp3's. And it's FREE , no shareware crap with limits on it. Check out http://www.longfingers.com . It works on windows or macs. Easy and simple to use. I tried it, it's awesome. Dave.

    Ummmm...I don't see the software....

What do you mean 'back up' your music? It's already on your PC anyway...

Scroll down to the bottom of the page, you will see 3 pieces of software 2 say free I believe. It is the one that has a picture of a iPod a arrow then a folder.
As far as it already being on our computer, I have lost it all before due to hard drive failure....... I also had to return my first iPod due to a junk battery after only 2 months. It's always nice to have the option. Dave.

Has anyone used Anapod Explorer rather than i-tunes? I heard the program allows you to move your music from your iPod to your HD (which iTunes does not allow). I need this feature as the external HD that has 25G of my music may have cooked.

bigsmed - you don't need software to expose the hidden folders in the iPod. You can do it manually.

I still don't get what you mean....If your HDD corrupts, you can use the guide (at the top of the forum) to get the music back on your PC

And If your iPod's HDD corrupts, it's on your PC anyway.

Bubbalou - Have a look here,

it can be done without the need to purchase any software, but I do recommend anapod, I have it and it is a wonderful little proggy for all of your music backup needs.

Hehe, it doesn't matter buddy. Any suggestion is a good suggestion, and also, we all have to be newBs before we know what we are doing. Ask as many questions as you like. The more questions are posted, the more people can share knowledge :)

This is definetely a great site for learning, so be sure to stick around :)

Thanks Lethal B. I'm a newbie here and someimes a bit thick in the head. Can't see forrest through the trees, etc.
I will definitely try them out & hope to get my music back on my mac. I had the Accomdata for 4 weeks, loaded 25G+ then it just stopped showing up. I'm trying to work through that with Acomdata.
Thanks again from Philadelphia, PA across the pond.
