I backed it up using CloneDVD 2. On movies that DVD Shrink can't shrink, I shrink and backup at the same time using CloneDVD 2.

DVD Shrink will not be able to back this movie up alone. You are going to need to use either RipIt4Me (free) or DVD Fab Decryptor along with VOB Blanker (both free) before opening in DVD Shrink. This is due to new types of encryption. Click on the links to Alkohol's guides in my signature and you will be sorted. Please remember to keep all the software up to date! good luck!

i've just installed DVDFab Decrypter 3.0.5.1 Beta after using 3.0.5.0 fine. I'm sure this version will storm thru this movie.

edit- 3.0.5.1 Beta couldn't do this movie when i used Full Disc mode (i prefer to do Full Disc, hopefully less chance of looping chapters etc). Am having to do 'movie only', hopefully it'll turn out ok...

Just added this info to a cdfreaks thread of Fengtao's here entitled " DVDFab 3.0.5.1 Beta" - http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?p=1642748#post1642748

For a DL copy the old dvd decrypter worked fine in iso read mode.

If I remembered it correctly, You Me & Dupree (US, Region 1) came out about 1 month ago and I used the previous version before DVDFab Decrypter 3.0.5.0 using "Full Disc Mode" and it ripped thoroughly.

Now I'm wondering if the UK version has some kind of different protection?

hey alkohol buddy, hope you're having a nice break. And the other posters also..
Anyways, according to the cdfreaks thread there's possibly some bad presses of this film. I know we see the term 'bad press' banded about a lot, never experienced it before myself, not sure that's why i even had my problem, but hadn't tried a previous version as yet, just getting on with Shrinking the movie for now...

edit- but yep, it could well be different protections on the region 2 disc also.

    @creaky buddy

Yep, I'm enjoying (the holidays) my week off until the 3rd of Jan. 2007, and I hope you enjoyed your Christmas and hopefully the New Year too.

Yes possibly a different protection for Region 2, maybe and mayb not. I went that link and someone did mentioned a "bad pressed" original. It's typical nowadays the big guys would released a few batch of bad pressed if the encryption is not that strong. So I'm sure that could be the culprit that apply to "You, Me & Dupree." Give the previous version a shot, it won't hurt to give it a try.

    Best of luck!!

You and Me And Dupree was an easy one for AnyDVD and Nero Recode. It's been out for awhile. Current programs should do that one??

This movie only came out today here in UK, but you're right, the current programs should cater for it by the fact that the movie has been out elsewhere. Have shrunk the movie but yet to watch it, too busy watching Snakes on a Plane :p

I think you'll enjoy the movie (You, Me & Dupree), Owen Wilson is hilarious. I laugh throughout the whole movie. Snake On a Plane is another funny show, not the greatest but my wife and I enjoyed it on the big screen when it first came out.

Anyways, off topic here. Damn... I'll be broke soon: 2 sons, 1 want a Wii and the other want a PS3. Christmas is over, yet I haven't found any of them yet (yeah, I know both sons are mad pissed). All sold-out, went through 10 Best Buy, 5 Circuit City, 10 Wal-Mart, 5 Targets and none of them take order, LOL. Let alone "e-bay", those prices are ridiculous.

I should have known better to "camp" next time, LOL!!

Hey, thanks alot guys, most helpful. Ended up using fabdecrypter and dvd2one. In Aussie we get our movies a little later than overseas.

'movie only' in DVDFab 3.0.5.1 Beta turned out fine, DVD Shrink happily did it's thing on the files afterwards.

Also used 3.0.5.1 Beta for 'full disc' mode of Snakes on a Plane, again that turned out fine
