Hi, I have recently started to backup my DVD collection and have burned possibly 100+ dvds successfully using DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink. However, I have just started getting "coasters". This does coincide with 2 new packs of blank media. (Datawrite 8xDVD+R). When the DVD is played in my DVD Player the disc stops/jumps at the beginning of chapters near the beginning or ending of film. Am I correct in thinking that the blank media is at fault? Or could it be something else more sinister? Also, if the media is at fault, do companies issue replacements? Cheers, garliadr
garliadr hi click on the link in my sig below , download the disc identifier put your disc through it and post the result here i hope that the disc's aren't Datawrite Titanium which could be Prodisc R03. if they are read my comments in the link below http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/2/227879
hi yes i'm afraid they are even worse than prodisc.(see sig) set shrink target on 4300mb to keep your burns well away from the outer edge burn real slow 2.4x take your unopened pack back and change them for some Verbatim or Ritek as in my sig hope this helps
yeah cmc mag makes the worst blank media on the market today try Taiyo Yuden ,Verbatim or Ritek and burn at 4x max.
@aabbccdd hi yes didn't make myself clear thank's i meant burn what garliadr had left of his/her cmc at 2.4x
Burnt 2 today successfully at 2.4x and with reducing compression to get 4300. Many thanks 4 all help, will certainly be more careful buying media in the future.
