I have lots of mp3s, but want to make a backup from the ones on my computer. Problem is, burning on CDR would take about 20 CDR. I have a DVD Burner, can I burn these onto one of those disks? Didn't know where to start... Thanks!

hi done this myself. backed up 42gb of mp3 onto 10 dvd-rw no problem. used nero selected data, data disc and burn. Very unlikely to play in your dvd player unless your very lucky. works in my wharfedale m5 with modified firmware, one4all. see area450, google search.

i tried this and nero tells me to enter a disc compatible with the compilation. it then gives a suggestion below to use a cd-r. of course this defeats the purpose because it's too small. should i not be using by dvd burner for this? i am choosing data disc and then burning to my dvd burner. Thanks!!

I've done the same thing as [bold]c22shoot[/bold]. Except I stuck my mp3's on DVD-R's. I just went to Nero, choose Data Disc then burned it. You said that Nero tells you to enter a disc compatible with the compilation...what kind of media are you using?

have you more than one burner in your sysytem. if so nero will present you with the option to select the burner to use in a drop down tab that appears above the data selector tab."which recorder would you like to use". My burner is in an external usb box, so i have to turn on the box before i start nero EXPRESS otherwise it will not display the dvd option. Have you done any other burning via nero to this dvd unit. Give us more info to help you.

yes, i do make sure to select my e: drive, which is the dvd burner. (it also gives an option for my d: drive, my cd burner). i have burned movies on the dvd drive, but never anything else. could it be that i am using the dvd +r instead of dvd-r? i don't know the difference, but noticed that's what you had used. thanks for your help.

Hi struggling to come up with any other ideas. Are you using Nero 5 or 6? Confirm the version number you are using, have you downloaded the latest updates?. If 6 do you launch via Nero startsmart, if so explain the stages you follow in as much detail as possible. Do you burn with Nero or Nero express? The + or - disc should make no difference. If using express check the disc is empty by clicking on the "more" tab and selecting " disc info". If the disc is empty it will confirm this
