I wish to backup my new game Devastation game (pc cd) but clone cd and alcohol do not appear to be able to read it.

I read that this game is SafeDisc 2.9 & that it somehow blacklists clonecd & alcohol (i have full version 1.4.3 build 410)

    Any ideas people?

if i remember correctly you must turn off emulation or whatever alcohol has in system tray! and cloneCD to! then it will see it!

cant remember burn technique but looking for it now!

Thanks Rotary thats a good suggestion, however...

I actually mamaged to solve it myself before reading your post! (but would still appreciate anything you find on burning technique!)

Used Blind Write software (latest version) and it made the copy. It took quite a while for my cd-writer to read the data and make an image but apart from that all is well!

Hope this helps some other people as well :)

If you need emulation then use Daemon Tools . Be sure to first install the game with your original copies and if your backups won't play, use Safedisc& Laserlock emulation in Daemon Tools virtual dvd\cd-rom emulation.

    Daemon Tools:http://www.daemon-tools.com/Frames/mainlowmid.htm

If you own a "2 sheep burner"(EFM Encoding) then you can easily backup Safedisc 2.9.x using Alcohol 120 or Paddus Discjuggler. See the guides posted in the CD-R main section as you enter m8.

    Shoey :)
